Dodge has decided it’s time to mix things up with the 2023 Dodge Hornet, a subcompact SUV set to be the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model with its key focus being on efficiency and performance. The “first electrified performance vehicle from Dodge” raises the bar high and lives up to its expectations.
As you step inside the 2023 Dodge Hornet you’ll find that the dashboard prioritizes the driver by shifting the controls to the left for easier access. The well-designed steering wheel includes shift paddles and a button to select different drive modes. Each model will feature a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.3-inch infotainment display packed with the latest Uconnect5 software. Quick speed should never be a problem since the GT will go from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds before reaching its top speed of 140 mph.
The Dodge Hornet R/T PHEV packs a punch with 285 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. This model also features a 1.3-liter turbocharged all-aluminum engine with MultiAir technology that improves combustion efficiency by adjusting valve lift and timing. As far as travel distance, the Dodge Hornet R/T offers more than 30 miles of all-electric range on a full charge.
